Oregon Rusty's 55's

USAV Open Volleyball Championships in Atlanta, GA:
Play started Saturday, May 29, 2004

Rustys started the 55s division ranked 3rd in their pool of 6.
The results from the first day:
Rustys from Oregon defeated Dinasours from Florida, 25-20, 20-10
Legends from Southern California  defeated Rustys, 25-15, 25-21.
Rustys defeated Bay Magic from Chesapeake Bay 25-18, 22-25, 15-11.
Legends had former All-Americans Jon Stanley and John Alstrom.

Day 2 proved that the seeding was correct, as Rustys lost to Brazil,
and then beat Louisville.

The double elimination started on Day 3.  Rustys won a great match against Michiana, (24-26, 25-21, 15-13.) That was the high point of the tournament, as Rustys then lost to another Brazil team, and then to Miami Valley. It was a disappointing finish, below expectations.
